Happy New Year, my lovely readers!!! Hope you all had a wonderful time with your family and friends. As for me, I've had the time of my life. And I mean that quite literally. I took a few weeks off blogging-- you know, just to get those creative juices flowing again, and now I'm back full of energy and ideas *hooray* For my first post of the year, I thought I'd do a little round-up of my top beauty discoveries of 2014. I couldn't possibly include everything rolled up into one blog post (obviously, or else I'd fail miserably), instead I thought I'd limit it to at least seven. So here they are:
BY TERRY Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock. I thought long and hard negating the need for such an expensive eyeshadow stick. But after much deliberation, I got one ( as it happens most of the time). Misty Rock is a gorgeous mauve-taupe with reflective shimmer particles. The texture is super creamy but once it's set it doesn't move, which means you need to blend it in real quick. I'm really impressed with the staying power as well-- it stays on without budging and fading for at least 6 to 7 hours.

NARS Sheer Glow foundation in Fiji. If you are a frequent reader of my blog (thank you), you might know that I'm a big fan of this foundation. Ever since I purchased it last March, I've been wearing it almost every single day. It gives a medium but build-able coverage, doesn't feel heavy on the skin and stays put when set with a powder. One pump of this will give you an even, healthy, glowing complexion.  It's definitely worth the $45 investment.
DIOR Addict Extreme in 476 Plaza. This is a new addition to my lipstick stash as I bought this last December-- and it's most definitely one of my favorites. I'd call this is a hydrating tinted lip balm/stain. It glides on like a dream, leaving a gorgeous vibrant color with a beautiful dewy shine. It feels really comfortable on the lips, very moisturizing, and surprisingly long-lasting! 476 Plaza is a gorgeous fuchsia pink, which you can wear sheer or build it up for a bold lip.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone and Opal. So I think this could be my favorite purchase of the year! My, oh my, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector is heaven sent. Seriously. One drop of this gorgeous illuminator mixed with foundation or on its own will give a you a a lit-from-within glow. I personally like to apply it under foundation specifically across the brow, cheekbones, and under the eyes for a softly lit, radiant, healthy complexion.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Full Cover Concealer in Ivory 6. I have an issue with dark under eye circles and facial redness, so I have been on the hunt for an industrial strength concealer that could cover everything up but still look natural on the skin without accentuating the dry areas of the face. So when I discovered this, it was almost like a dream come true. MUFE Full Cover concealer is water resistant, long-lasting, effortlessly covers dark circles, redness, brightens under the eye without creasing or budging throughout the day. It is so pigmented you just need a teeny tiny amount to cover imperfections and once it dries it stays put. Brilliant!
BECCCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold. A blush and a highlighter in one? Yes, please. The pressed version of the cult Shimmering Skin Perfector creates a very natural shine--not glittery at all. This rose gold shade is perfect for adding an instant beautiful luminosity and color to the cheeks. I'm looking into buying more of these in the nearest future.

This is all for today's post. What do you think? Have you tried anything I've mentioned here? If so, let me know in the comments below.
